Courtyard Conversations: Joe Lastie Jr.

Here at Preservation Hall, we're blessed with enjoying the most remarkable of conversations with and between the musicians - stories about their everyday lives, their past, the future, travel, and the intricate backdrop behind the collages they paint with their music every night. It is with the utmost pleasure that we share these little snapshots of those stories with you. This Courtyard Conversation features Hall Fellow and Preservation Hall drummer Joe Lastie, Jr.

Joe Lastie: Receiving his first drum set at age eight, Joe Lastie was destined to carry on the traditions of his highly musical family, which included his mother, both grandfathers, his aunt Betty, and his uncles Melvin, David, and Walter "Popee."
