Preservation Hall Foundation to Postpone Second Annual Legacy Awards Ceremony
NEW ORLEANS - The Preservation Hall Foundation will postpone the second annual legacy awards ceremony due to Tropical Storm Gordon.
“For the safety of our guests. musicians and staff, we have decided to postpone the Legacy Ceremony,” said Ashley Shabankareh, director of programs. “We can’t wait to see everyone on September 26 when we induct Lars Edegran, Orange Kellin and Lester Caliste as Master Practitioners into the Legacy Program.”
Launched in 2015, the Legacy Program has given over $150,000 in direct financial stipends to elder musicians and provides support for emergency health care, dental needs, parking, yard maintenance and bereavement services.
UPDATE: The Second Annual Legacy Awards will take place on Wednesday, October 17 at 5 p.m. at Three Keys at the Ace Hotel New Orleans.
