Introducing the Preservation Hall Lessons Webinar Series!

Over five free upcoming webinars, the Preservation Hall Foundation invites teachers, music therapists and educational leaders to participate in a series of special education professional development opportunities, all aimed at contributing to student success, confidence, and social-emotional growth.

Following the recent launch of Preservation Hall Lessons, we are incredibly excited to dive even deeper into the profound power of music in classroom instruction, and provide teachers serving students with disabilities access to free information and resources in the process. Please join us for the first webinar of the series:

Music and Sensory Integration with New Orleans Rhythms

Featuring panelists Will Smith and Meredith Sharpe

In this webinar, panelists will explore music sensory integration strategies with the different rhythms of traditional New Orleans music. During this course, participants will discover how to recognize students' sensory needs, the importance of considering students' sensory needs, and ways in which music can help with these sensory needs. Participants can expect to gain strategies, activities, and resources to promote concentration and "ready to learn" bodies for a safe and successful learning experience. This course is led by Meredith Sharpe, Neurologic Music Therapist, and Will Smith, a Preservation Hall Trumpeter and Special Education Teacher.
