New Orleans Artist Josh Wingerter Creates Preservation Hall Mural
New Orleans artists have been doing their best to keep working and bring us joy during these hard times. Local street artist Josh Wingerter recently created an all-too-familiar scene outside of 726 St. Peter to help keep our heads up.
The scene, originally captured by photographer Ralph Cowan in the mid-1970s, depicts the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, including, from left to right, a young Ben Jaffe, Jim Robinson, Josiah "Cie" Frazier, James Prevost, Willie Humphrey, Percy Humphrey, Sing Miller and Narvin Kimball.
