Q&A Follow-Up

During the webinar Q&A, Meredith was asked:

At what age would a child typically begin to experience Sensory Modulation Disorder or other sensory processing disorder?

After a bit of research, here is her answer:

I consulted a friend of mine who is an Sensory Integration Occupational Therapist, and she shared that it is hard to say a specific age. She said it can be observed pretty young, but it is sometimes not realized or diagnosed as a sensory processing disorder until school age. She had a couple of great resources to pass along. The first is a great website with a great book recommendation: https://www.sensorysmartparent.com/

Then, within the website there is a checklist parents can review: https://www.sensorysmartparent.com/yourchildssensoryportrait

Hope this helps!

Meredith
